We cover responsibilities for each other when necessary. We trust each other, seek the same goals, and “peer pressure” each other into doing more and better. And we care for each other—when our controller of 30 years passed away in May 2016 he asked to see us all in his final hours. The experience level among all of us is amazing, so if we have a personal or business problem, chances are someone will help find a solution. We rarely have staff turnover.
WE EAT LUNCH TOGETHER EVERY WORK DAY
AH! SPA DAYS…
A WORKPLACE THAT FEELS LIKE FAMILY

This is the best place I’ve ever worked in my life—the best people I’ve ever worked with!
We laugh a lot. Visitors to our office have often said, ‘You guys have the funnest office ever!’
Some clients become like family. Once a client visited the site on her birthday. I laid a tablecloth over a stack of drywall with a vase of flowers and a cake with candles. The drywallers and I sang Happy Birthday. She cried.
We are given freedom to do our jobs. We are trusted to make decisions appropriate to our level of responsibility. Our bosses’ doors are always open if we need help with those decisions.
One thing I’m proud about is the fact that I’ve maintained friendships with the homeowners of the last four homes that I’ve completed. They call me just to talk.
Ronnie, Steven, Josh, and Kevin take care of us. They are generous. Several of us have had deaths or major illnesses in our families, and they’ve given us time off and helped with meals.
We are very honest. If a client wants to see copies of every invoice, they get them. We are an open book. Like in the ‘good old days,’ we stand by a handshake.
We’re expected to get our work done and do our absolute best—even if that means working until 8:00 at night. But if our work is done and we want to leave at 2:00, they say, ‘Go have fun! Go to the beach. Relax.’
Before this job, no boss had thanked me for working hard. Ever. But here after rough weeks I’ve received emails on Saturdays from my boss: ‘Thank you for everything you did this week. You did a really great job.’
We can never thank Josh, Kevin, Ron, and Steven enough for the atmosphere they create, and the examples they are. We work hard because they work hard.
