This chronicle of our corporate history is lovingly dedicated to the memories of Irvin Shapiro and Earl Pertnoy, whose mentorship and lessons in doing what is right have endowed three subsequent generations of Shapiros and Pertnoys. They would have been delighted to see their grandsons continue their legacy, putting to work their knowledge, experience, and proficiency to become preeminent in South Florida real estate development and construction.

We would be remiss if we did not also express our appreciation of their wives Delora and Civie (our mothers and grandmothers), and our own wives—Ellen, Susan, Andrea, and Jennifer—all of whom have had to endure the maddening hours and frequent inaccessibility of their husbands over the years. Building a winning business has never been a nine-to-five job, and we are deeply grateful for their patience, support, and love.
